Lately all the buzz has been about twitter and how to use it to promote your business. So here are my twitter tips for the week.
- Do not tweet about what you are having for breakfast. If you don't have anything interesting to say, don't say anything at all.
- Do tweet about the new project you are working on. Also link to your blog article about it or attach a photo to spice things up!
- Don't tweet the same thing over and over. You start to sound like a broken record and people will stop reading your tweets or even un-follow you.
- Do tweet about things other than your own stuff. It keeps things interesting and lets people know what you are interested in.
- Do not sign up for sites promising thousands of followers. These people are trying to get people to follow them, and generally have no interest in actually reading your tweets, or purchasing your product.
- Do follow people that are "guru's" in what you are interested in. This can keep you updated in new information, as well as get you a few followers.
Twitter has to be more of a two way street if you plan on finding anything value in it. Your twitter experience is only as good as who you follow and who follows you. You don't have to spend much time twittering and it can be a great free resource. Follow me on twitter!
