Adventures in Resin – My First Attempt

So, one of the first pieces I have ever made is this lovely little talk bubble pendant. After I got my kiln and fired the pendant I could not figure out what I was going to color it with. A book I looked at had concrete, which seems fun, but I wasn't sure it would work for this. So, finally I just decided to add resin that I colored red and white. My first problem was that the back of the pendant was not flat. So, I had to make it a little pillow to sit on that would help […]more

Operation – Organize Accomplished

My inner slob is a little disgruntled, but it has been so nice to finally have some organization! I found the box with drawers  at Ikea. It was a little time consuming to put together, but once I was finished I loved it! I decided to use some old spraypaint in my garage to add a little color and to seal the wood. I also got the plastic bin at Ikea. It has great dividers in it that I can move around and take out incase I need to put larger items in the box. Also, you may notice the […]more

Between the 9-5 grind and trying to keep up with the everyday things, some days I feel like I just have to take the time to recharge those batteries. Lucky for me I can travel about 30 minutes and get to places like this: After a day playing in the wilderness with my dogs I am always ready to get back to creating and get the ideas flowing again.  What do you do to recharge your creative batteries?

Off to Boise for the Weekend

Heading out today to visit family in Boise, Idaho. I thought this was great timing because I recently saw this City Guide on Design*Sponge. There are some places on there I haven't been before and am going to have to visit. Image from Design*Sponge Boise City Guide Like usuall I waited until the last minute to pack and realized that, Damn, I am going to have to do some laundry. Naturally it was already 10:00 at night so I got to spend some quality time with our ancient washer and dryer that sometimes decides it needs to decorate our clothes […]more

Operation – Organize

Hello everyone, and happy Friday. I am excited to announce that I get the day off today because of some strange holliday in Utah called Pie & Beer day. …. What? Oh… Pioneer day.  Well, regardless, I get the day off. When I get a day off I like to set some goals for my self. Like, must wake up before ten. Must not spend all day on the computer, that kind of thing. Today, staring at what I call my desk I realized what must be done. It must be organized. Let me show you what I am looking […]more

Twitter tips for Etsy Sellers – 6 Do’s and Don’ts

Lately all the buzz has been about twitter and how to use it to promote your business. So here are my twitter tips for the week.  Do not tweet about what you are having for breakfast. If you don't have anything interesting to say, don't say anything at all. Do tweet about the new project you are working on. Also link to your blog article about it or attach a photo to spice things up! Don't tweet the same thing over and over. You start to sound like a broken record and people will stop reading your tweets or even […]more
