When the Cat is Away, the Mice will Play . . .

The man of the house is out of town for the week on a business trip, and has left me alone to hold up the fort.

(Insert evil laugh here)

Just think of the possibilities 🙂 I have decided that while he is gone, I am going to take down the offensive blue plad wallpaper that is currently lurking in my kitchen, and paint it a lovely green. Yes, green. I am going to paint Mr. Beige's kitchen a lovely shade of bright green, all without his knowledge. Infact, all of you will know before he does.

Here are a few shots of the kitchen and hallway before the wallpaper came down. (you can see on the hallway photo that I got excited and pulled some down before I remembered to take a picture. Sorry for the crappy photos, these are cellphone shots.)

So, after driving him to the airport on Saturday I stopped by my local hardware store and purchased my tools of destruction. Now, I have heard how annoyingly horrible it is to tear down wallpaper, but surely it cant be that bad, right?

Wrong. Especially when the previous tennant decided that when the wallpaper begins to peel, they should re-adhere it with any glue, or sticky substance they have handy. Hot glue, superglue, and I swear I scraped honey off one corner of the wall.

So here is the before. Check back for some works in progress and the finished product 🙂

I am also looking for some vinyl art to put above the cabinets in the second pictures, any suggestions?
