My Beginnings in Enameling Copper Jewelry

I have had supplies to try enamels since December but have been a little bit chicken to try them. Well, I finally did and it was really fun. I didn't try anything too fancy, just trying to get the hang of it at first. I am really excited to do more of this. There are so many colors, techniques and designs that you can accomplish with enamels.

In the photo with the enameled pieces (sorry not the best photo) I used a blue, red, black and turquoise. I only got one side done tonight and I need to do some sanding and a second coat on all but the black. Then I get to do the other side. You can see my spatula in the last picture. Because I don't have a front loading kiln I had to bend it so I could scoop the trivet out of the kiln once I got my boyfriend to take the top off for me.

I am hoping to finish these up tomorrow and I will post some proper photos of the pieces then.
